In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to retired teachers insurance.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Chapter 32B: Section 11E is hereby amended by adding the following Paragraph:

 

Not withstanding any other section of this chapter, a town may by local option adopt one of the following amendments to the above sections.

 

Add the following sentence after the word “town?” in line 19 of the first paragraph:

 

“However, no town shall pay more than their current ratio of the insurance premium at the time of said teachers retirement.”

 

Or add the following paragraph after the end of the second paragraph:

 

Furthermore, a political subdivision that has accepted this section may by a vote and letter to the commission, terminate its acceptance of this section prospectively only.  Any teacher that is retired and receiving insurance through the state at the time of such votes shall not be affected by this chapter.
