In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the appointment of Mark Walsh to the position of police officer in the town of Stoneham.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general law, rule or regulation to the contrary regulating the maximum age of an applicant for appointment as a police officer, the personnel administrator of the human resources division and/or such other official(s) of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as required by law or regulation, shall certify Mark Walsh to be eligible for original appointment to the position of police officer in the Town of Stoneham according to the grade he received on the civil service examination taken prior to the vote by the town.  If Mark Walsh meets all requirements for such appointment as a police officer, the Town of Stoneham may appoint him.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its passage.
