An Act relative to creditable service for work at publicly funded employment centers. |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 32 of the General laws, as appearing in the 2006 official edition is hereby amended by inserting after section 4, subdivision 1 paragraph (s), the following paragraph:
(t) A member of the state retirement system who is eligible to receive a retirement benefit pursuant to this chapter who served as an employee of a state or federally funded career center in the Commonwealth, may establish such service as creditable service by depositing in the annuity savings fund of the state retirement system in 1 sum or in installments, upon such terms and conditions as the board may prescribe, an amount equal to 10 per cent of the compensation received by the member during such period plus regular interest to the date of the deposit.
