In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act  relative to the calculation of retiree cost of living allowance.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. that the sections of Chapter 32 of the General Laws as appearing in the latest official edition is amended by striking out the figure $12,000 in all lines in which it appears and inserting in place thereof the figure $16,000.

Also, words should be added that guarantee the percentage of this number at a minimum of three percent and that the cost of living adjustment is indeed automatic each year and does not require a vote of the members of the General Court.
