An Act concerning civil service of county correction officers.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Section 48 of chapter 31 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the second paragraph the following new paragraph:-

Correction officers in jails or houses of correction who have care and custody of prisoners shall be subject to the civil service law and rules.
