An Act authorizing the state board of retirement to grant creditable service to Dorothy Sweeney. |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to authorize creditable service to a certain state employee, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public convenience.
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the state board of retirement shall credit Dorothy Sweeney of the town of Dennis, an employee of the department of higher education, with creditable service for the service she rendered
for the department of higher education as an 03 employee for the period of August 1977 to August 1979 for the purpose of determining her superannuation retirement allowance under chapter 32 of the General Laws.
SECTION 2. Eligibility for this creditable service shall be conditioned upon payment by Dorothy Sweeney to the state employees’ retirement system of an amount equal to that which would have been withheld as regular deductions from her regular compensation for such previous service, plus interest. Such repayment shall be made in 1 lump sum or in installments, as the state retirement board shall prescribe.
