In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, any veteran, as defined in clause forty-third, section 7, chapter 4 of the General Laws, who buys back creditable service for purposes of retirement under the provisions of Chapter 71 of the Acts of 1996, shall purchase such creditable service for their military service based upon ten percent of their salary when he or she first became employed by the Commonwealth or any political subdivision thereof.
