In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act to further exempt property tax.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Section 5, of Chapter 59, of the Massachusetts General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following new subsection:—
Seventeenth E ½.  Real estate shall be exempt for a home owner who has reached sixty-five years of age, and who has owned and occupied said home for twenty-five years while paying property tax on said home for twenty-five years, and whose annual income does not exceed $40,000.
