In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to town meeting appropriations.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Paragraph (m) of section 21C of chapter 59 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2000 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after clause (3) the following clause:-

 

(3A) no contingent appropriation that would reduce the amount otherwise appropriated for a particular purpose shall be effective unless adopted at an annual town meeting and approved in a ballot question no later than June 30th next following the annual town meeting.
