 An Act Relative to energy efficient vehicles.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Section 9A of Chapter 7 is hereby amended by inserting after sub-section (d), the following new sub-section (e):—
(e) a complete listing of low-emission fuel-efficient state passenger vehicles and light duty trucks purchased in the preceding calendar year. The secretary shall only authorize and approve the purchase of replacement vehicles in accordance with section one hundred and forty-two J and K of chapter one hundred and eleven. No state vehicles may be purchased unless they meet or exceed fuel efficiency standards and emission standards established by the commissioner of department of environmental protection.
