 An Act library internet safety.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.

 

Chapter 78 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following new section: -

 

Section 7A. All public libraries which provide computer access to minors shall have a policy regarding internet safety measures and shall make this policy known to the parents and guardians of minors.  In addition this policy shall be made available to all other library patrons.  Determination of these individual policies as well as standards and rules for the enforcement of this provision shall be prescribed by the individual library authorities.
