In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to school internet safety policies.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.

 

Chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following new section: -

 

Section 90. Every city, town, regional school district or vocational school which provides computer access to minors shall have a policy regarding internet safety measures and shall make this policy known to the parents and guardians of minors.  Determination of these individual policies as well as standards and rules for the enforcement of this provision shall be prescribed by the school committee in conjunction with the superintendent.
