 An Act relative to the annual proclamation of Arbella Day.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 15KKKK the following section:-

               

Section 15LLLL.  The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the twelfth day of June as Arbella Day in recognition of the date of the first settlers' arrival with the Royal Massachusetts Bay Colony Charter on the shores of Massachusetts in 1630 and recommending that the day be observed in an appropriate manner by the people of the Commonwealth.

 

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
