In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to fines for refusal to stop during police pursuit.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

           Section 25 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:—
                Any person who, while operating or in charge of a motor vehicle, when being pursued by a police officer in an official police vehicle displaying lights and siren, who refuses or neglects to stop, shall be punished by a fine of not less than one thousand nor more than ten thousand dollars and imprisonment for not less than two and one-half nor more than five years, or both such fine and imprisonment.
