An Act relative to fines for refusal to stop during police pursuit. |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 25 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, is hereby amended by adding the
following paragraph:—
Any person who, while operating or in charge of a motor
vehicle, when being pursued by a police officer in an official police vehicle
displaying lights and siren, who refuses or neglects to stop, shall be punished
by a fine of not less than one thousand nor more than ten thousand dollars and
imprisonment for not less than two and one-half nor more than five years, or
both such fine and imprisonment.
