In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to highway rest areas.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

  Chapter 81 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 13B the following section:-

 

   Section 13C.  The Massachusetts highway department shall make every diligent effort to maintain highway rest areas in a safe and clean manner.  Any clothing bin or related storage receptacle shall be located in the rear of the rest area, insofar as possible, and shall be at all times free of debris, litter, trash, and any other matter foreign to the purpose of the receptacle bin.  It shall be the responsibility of the department to assure that these rest areas are at all times aesthetically enticing to highway travelers.
