An Act relative to further ensure work zone safety.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Insert new section 24Q in Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as follows:-

SECTION 24Q.  Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, any civil or criminal motor vehicle infraction carrying a fine and/or penalty, or possibility of a fine and/or penalty, by any person operating a motor vehicle through the parameters of a marked construction zone or construction area on any way, will be subject to a fine and/or penalty double the amount currently issued.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect immediately upon passage.
