Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as
appearing in the 2002 Official Edition is hereby amended in section 7 by
inserting in line 176, after “substance.” the following:—
No person
shall sell, offer for sale or install on, or in, any motor vehicle or trailer:
(1) a muffler from which the baffle plates, screens or other original internal
parts have been removed and not replaced; (2) an exhaust system which has been
modified in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the
exhaust; or (3) a muffler cut-out or by-pass. Antique motor cars, as defined by
Section One of this chapter, are excluded from this provision.
