 An Act to ban cell phone use while driving.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Section 13 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the words “except that a person may operate a motor vehicle while using a citizens band radio or mobile telephone”, in lines 4 to 6, inclusive, and inserting in place thereof the following:- including, but not limited to, citizens band radios or mobile telephones; provided, however, such person may use such citizens band radios or mobile telephones to call emergency response numbers to report emergencies.
