 An Act relative to the sponsoring of bridges in the Commonwealth.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1:Chapter 6A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition is hereby amended by inserting after section 19A the following section: -

Section 19B.  The secretary shall offer sponsorship rights for the bridges across the commonwealth.  The secretary shall establish a cost schedule for said sponsorship rights depending upon the flow of traffic on the individual bridge in either direction, provided however, that the funds raised from said sponsorship shall be deposited into the public transportation funds.  The department of highways shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing said designation of the sponsor in compliance with any applicable department or federal standards.
