An Act relative to the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority board . |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 2 of chapter 81A is hereby amended:
(a) The authority shall consist of 9 members, 5 members to be appointed by the governor and 4 members to be appointed accordingly: 1 appointee from the labor community, 1 appointee from the Office of the State Auditor, 1 appointee from the Office of the Mayor of the City of Boston, and 1 appointee from the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth, who shall be residents of the commonwealth, not more than five of whom shall be of the same political party, and at least 1 member at all times shall be a resident of a town which abuts the Massachusetts turnpike and is wholly or partially located between the Weston toll plaza and the interstate route 495 interchange.
(c) The authority shall elect 1 of the members as vice chairperson. Five members of the authority, including the chairperson, shall constitute a quorum and the affirmative vote of five members shall be necessary for any action taken by the authority.
