In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

An Act to promote implementation of residential energy efficiency through an energy mortgage program.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.Section 27 of chapter 23B of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting the following new section:—
No new residential mortgage shall be purchased by the Massachusetts Home Mortgage Finance Agency unless the mortgage lender certifies to the Massachusetts Home Mortgage Finance Agency that the residential building has received an energy rating by an authorized home energy rating organization.
