 An Act permitting off premises storage of alcoholic beverages

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Chapter 138 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 20A the following section:-

 

Section 20B.  Retail licensees may maintain remote storage facilities for alcoholic beverages, unconnected to their licensed premises, anywhere in the Commonwealth provided that: (1) such remote storage facilities will not be open to the public; and (2) such remote storage facilities shall be for the sole purpose of storing alcoholic beverages for resale at the licensed premises or for delivery by the licensee or a common carrier to a purchaser.  Provided, however, nothing herein shall be deemed to prohibit or limit a licensee from soliciting or consummating sales by way of mail, fax machine, telecommunications or e commerce from such remote storage facilities.
