In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to establishing a division of the Worcester County Probate and Family Court.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Section 1 of chapter 215 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after the word “county,” in line 3, the following words:- provided, however, that Worcester shall have 2 divisions, one in Worcester and the other in Fitchburg,

 

SECTION 2.  Section 1 of chapter 217 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after the words “trial court,” in line 2, the following words:- except Worcester, which shall have 2 divisions,

 

SECTION 3.  Section 4 of chapter 217 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by adding, after the word “qualified” in line 4, the following words:- , provided however, that there shall be 2 registers of probate and insolvency in the county of Worcester, one in the Worcester division and the other in the Fitchburg division in accordance with section 1 of this act.
