In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to Amber alerts in the commonwealth.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary,  once  the department of public safety has issued an amber alert,  said department shall notify the department of probation to utilize the Global Positional System satellite  to determine if there are any sex offenders in the surrounding area where the amber alert was initiated.
