In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

——————

 

 An Act relative to tax exemptions for seniors in the town of Cohasset.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding clause forty-first A of section 5 of chapter 59 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the town of Cohasset may, by vote of town meeting prior to the start of any fiscal year, adopt for such fiscal year or higher maximum gross receipts amount for the purpose of qualifying seniors for the exemption in said clause (a) of said section 5 of said chapter 59, provided, however such amount shall not exceed $50,000 in the first fiscal year it is adopted.

 

SECTION 2.  This act shall apply initially to the first fiscal year commencing after the effective date hereof.

 

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
