In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act making technical corrections to chapter one hundred ninety six of the acts of two thousand and six concerning certain civil service positions in the city of Worcester.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Section one of chapter one hundred ninety-six of the acts of two-thousand and six is hereby amended by deleting in the first sentence thereof the words “who are” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “which have traditionally been considered exempt from the provisions of the civil service laws as”.

 

SECTION 2. Section one of chapter one hundred ninety-six of the acts of two-thousand and six is hereby further amended by inserting in the second sentence thereof the words “(Engineering and Architectural Division) of the department of public works and parks” after the words: “the city architect and associated staff”. 

 

SECTION 3.  Section two of chapter one hundred ninety-six of the acts of two-thousand and six is hereby amended by deleting in the first sentence thereof the words “the capital projects division of the newly created department of public works and facilities” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “the customer service office”.

 

SECTION 4.  Section two of chapter one hundred ninety-six of the acts of two-thousand and six is hereby further amended by inserting after the words “the purchasing department” the words “the assessors office; the elections commission; the cable services division of the executive office of the city manager”.

 

SECTION 5.  This act shall take effect upon passage and shall be retroactive to August 1, 2006, the effective date of chapter one hundred ninety-six of the acts of two-thousand and six.
