An Act regarding the use of certain SBA reimbursements to the city of Medford

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of any general law, special law or regulation to the contrary, any reimbursements that have been received or shall be received by the city of Medford from the School Building Administration [SBA] “Smart Fund” for repairs to the roof at Medford High School shall be immediately available for use by the City of Medford without restriction in fiscal year 2007 and fiscal year 2008.

SECTION 2. The city shall restore any amount appropriated under this act to the reserved grant funds by fiscal year 2011.  If the city does not fully restore this amount by appropriation by fiscal year 2011, the assessors of the city shall include any amounts that have not been restored in the fiscal year 2011 tax rate.  The amount to be repaid shall not include any amounts that had been previously paid by the City of Medford to reduce the debt service.

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
