 An Act Relative to Cosmetologists

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1. Section 61 of Chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out clause “(3) assess upon the holder a civil administrative penalty, as determined by the board, not to exceed $100 for a first violation; $500 for a second violation; $1,500 for a third violation; or $2,500 for a fourth or subsequent violation; ” and inserting in place thereof the following clause:—“ (3) assess upon the holder a civil administrative penalty, as determined by the board, of not less than $100 and not to exceed $500 for a first violation; not less than $500 and not to exceed $1,000 for a second violation; not less than $2,500 and not to exceed $5,000 for a third violation; or not to exceed $10,000 for a fourth or subsequent violation; ”.
