 An Act to permit town resident Daniel Wesinger to take the civil service test for the position of firefighter in the town of Arlington

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

ARTICLE 23                                          HOME RULE LEGISLATION/DANIEL WESINGER

 

 

VOTED:                (STANDING VOTE – 120 IN THE AFFIRMATIVE AND 2 IN THE NEGATIVE)

 

That the Town does hereby request and authorize the Board of Selectmen to file Home Rule Legislation to provide as follows:

 

“AN ACT TO PERMIT TOWN RESIDENT, DANIEL WESINGER TO TAKE THE CIVIL SERVICE TEST FOR THE POSITION OF FIREFIGHTER IN THE TOWN OF ARLINGTON.

 

Section 1               Notwithstanding the provisions of any special or general law to the contrary including without limitation Chapter 31 of the General Laws, the Civil Service Law, Daniel Wesinger, a resident of the Town of Arlington is authorized to take the Civil Service examination and is eligible for appointment to the position of Firefighter notwithstanding the fact that he has attained the age of 32, provided however that such exemption shall expire on

December 31, 2012.

 

Section 2               This Act will take effect upon its passage”
