 An Act Relative to the adminstration of the city of Worcester

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

AN ACT RELATIVE TO

THE ADMINISTRATION OF

THE CITY OF WORCESTER

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and the House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by authority of the same, as follows:

 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law, or the provisions of the City Charter of the City of Worcester, the City Clerk of the City of Worcester shall provide administrative and operational support to the Board of Election Commissioners established under Article Seven of said Charter.

 

SECTION 2.  The provisions of this Act shall take effect upon passage and shall be deemed to be retroactive to June 19, 2007, the date upon which the City Manager of said City transmitted a reorganization plan under Article Six of said City Charter to the Worcester City Council which would implement the provisions of Section One of this Act.  The adoption of this Act shall ratify any actions taken on or after June 19, 2007 which would be lawfully authorized under the terms of this Act.  The provisions of Section One of this Act shall be subject to subsequent revision by the adoption of a reorganization plan under Article Six of said City Charter.

                Be It Ordered That the City Manager be and is hereby authorized to file a petition with the general court for the 2007 legislative session which would authorize the City Clerk of the City of Worcester to provide administrative and operational support to the Board of Election Commissioners.

 

                Be It Further Ordered That the City Manager be and only he is hereby authorized to approve all amendments to the Bill as filed except that the General Court may make clerical corrections or editorial changes in the form of the Bill without the approval of the City Manager.
