In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the town of Tisbury

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any limitations imposed by section 11 of chapter 138 of the General Laws as to time and manner of voting on questions or section 17 relative to the numbers of licenses to be held on any other general or special law to the contrary, the board of selectmen of the town of Tisbury shall cause to be placed on the official ballot used by said town by registered voters for the election of town offices at the annual town meeting to be held in the year 2008 the following question::

 

Shall the board of selectmen be authorized to issue licenses, without quota, for a season or annual term for the sale of wines and malt beverages to be drunk on the premises of restaurants, including those within inns and hotels having not less than 30 seats, to be consumed with meals only, to be consumed by persons seated at dining tables.

 

If a majority cast an answer to that question is in the affirmative, the town shall be taken to authorize the sale in said town of wines and malt beverages to be drunk on the premises of restaurants having not less than 30 seats.The board of selectmen may from time to time issue regulations for granting of such licenses and to define terms appropriate to carrying out the provisions of this act.

 

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
