In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act relative to the Wareham Parking Meter Fund

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  There is hereby established in the town of Wareham a community events fund to receive revenue under section 3A of chapter 64G of the General Laws and revenue from the parking meters in the town, as set forth in section 2 of this act.  The town of Wareham may appropriate monies in said fund to sponsor and support community events, projects, activities, services, programs and public improvements which are of mutual interest to the visitors to and residents of the town.

 

SECTION 2.  Seventy percent of the excise tax collected under section 3A of chapter 64G of the General Laws by the town of Wareham, and forty percent of the revenue deposited in the Wareham parking meter fund for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2007, shall be credited to the community events fund.

 

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
