 An Act Relative to Payment of Funeral and Burial Expenses for firefighters and police officers killed in performance of duties.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

An Act Relative to Payment of Funeral and Burial Expenses for firefighters and police officers killed in performance of duties.

 

SECTION 1.  Section 100G1/4 of Chapter 41 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the words “,not exceeding five thousand dollars,”; and replacing them with the following:-

 

“not exceeding fifteen thousand dollars,”.

 

Said section is hereby further amended by inserting at the end of the first sentence the following:-

“; provided however that no such payment shall be made in the absence of adequate documentation that such expense has actually been incurred.”
