In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

——————

 

 An Act relative to the retirement and health insurance of certain elected officials in the town of Tyringham.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1- Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter 32 or chapter 32B of the General Laws, or any other general or special law to the contrary, any elected official of the town of Tyringham who receives regular annual compensation that is less than $3,000.00, annually adjusted according to the national consumer price index as reported by the Federal Reserve Bank as of June 30, shall not be eligible for the benefits provided under said chapter 32B.

 

SECTION 2- The provisions of section 1 shall not impair the retirement or health benefits of any person serving as an elected official in the town of Tyringham as of January 1, 2006; provided, however, that if said elected official fails of nomination or re-election and is subsequently elected following his failure of nomination or re-election said official shall be subject to the provisions of this act.

 

SECTION 3- This act shall take effect upon passage
