In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

An Act Providing that the Person Elected City Councillor from Ward Seven in the City of Malden Assume Said Office Upon Certificate of the Votes

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the person elected city councilor form Ward 7 in the city of Malden at the municipal election held on November 6, 2007 for a 2 years term beginning on the first Monday in January 2008 shall, upon certification of the votes from said election, shall serve the remainder of the unexpired term of Chris P. Simonelli.  Upon certification the votes from said election the city clerk of Malden shall administer the oath of office to the councilor-elect from Ward 7.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
