An Act exempting the position of Chief of Police in the City of Methuen from the Civil Service Law. |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to authorize the City of Methuen to exempt the position of Chief of Police in the City of Methuen from the Civil Service Law; therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
SECTION 1. The position of Chief of Police in the City of Methuen shall be exempt from Chapter 31 of the General Laws.
