 An Act protecting military service members

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

 

Chapter 176D of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding after Section 11 the following new section:--

 

Section 11A .  Rules and regulations to protect service members.  Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the commissioner may in accordance with the provisions of chapter 30A, after notice and hearing, promulgate reasonable rules and regulations to protect service members of the United States Armed Forces from dishonest and predatory insurance sales practices by declaring certain identified acts or practices to be false, misleading, deceptive or unfair.
