An Act establishing a sick leave bank for a certain employee of the Department of Mental Retardation

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Whereas, the deferred appreciation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to establish forthwith a sick leave bank for a certain employee of the Department of Mental Retardation, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, the Department of Mental Retardation shall establish a sick leave bank for Marie Silva, an employee of the Department.  Any employee of the department may voluntarily contribute one or more of his sick, personal or vacation days to said sick leave bank for use by Marie Silva. Whenever Marie Silva terminates employment with the department or requests to dissolve the sick leave bank, the balance of the sick leave time shall be transferred to the extended illness leave bank.
