 An Act relative to the Licensure of day care centers

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

Section 1.. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Chapter 28A, Section 10 (G) shall be added stating that the Office of Child Care Services, hereinafter referred to as the office, shall seek the written approval of the local town or city government (city council, town aldermen’s, etc) when considering the approval and licensing of any school age child care programs, day care centers, family day care homes or systems, etc.  Before any licensure or approval can be issued the office must attain a statement of approval from the local municipality granting the school age child care programs, day care center, family day care homes or systems, etc approval of a licensure or approval from the office.
