An Act relative to health insurance premiums.

 

                Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

 

SECTION 1.  Section 108 of chapter 175 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:—

13. If an insured deceases during any period where a premium has been prepaid, such payment shall be refunded to the estate or next of kin on a pro-rata basis.

 

SECTION 2.  Section 110 of chapter 175 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following subdivision (Q):- If an insured deceases during any period where a premium has been prepaid, such payment shall be refunded to the estate or next of kin on a pro-rata basis.

 

SECTION 3.  Chapter 176G of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:- If an insured deceases during any period where a premium has been prepaid, such payment shall be refunded to the estate or next of kin on a pro-rata basis.

 

SECTION 4.  Chapter 176I of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:- If an insured deceases during any period where a premium has been prepaid, such payment shall be refunded to the estate or next of kin on a pro-rata basis.

BILL RELATIVE TO HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS
