An Act relative to the Historical Commission of the town of Lincoln |
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE HISTORICAL COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF LINCOLN.
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 8D of chapter 40 of the General Laws, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the board of selectmen of the town of Lincoln is hereby authorized to appoint annually 2 or more alternate members to the historical commission who shall serve for a term of 1 year. Such members may be designated by the chair of the historical commission to sit on the commission in the case of absence, inability to act or conflict of interest by a member, or in the event of a vacancy, until such time as the vacancy is filled in accordance with the General Laws. Any alternate member of the commission may be removed by the board of selectmen after a public hearing, if requested.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
