In the Year Two Thousand and Eight.

 An Act Authorizing the City of Haverhill to Borrow Funds for the Purpose of Financing the Purchase of School Department Text Books.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.

 

 

Notwithstanding the provisions of section 4 of chapter 387 of the acts of 2000, or any other general or

 

special law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the mayor of the city of Haverhill, with the approval of

 

the city council, is hereby authorized under chapter 44 of the General Laws or any other enabling

 

authority, to borrow the amount of $327,675 to finance the purchase of school department text

 

books.

 

 

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
