An Act  RELATIVE TO THE COMMONWEALTH'S PENSION SYSTEM.

 

   Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to provide forthwith for a cost of living increase for the commonwealth's pension system, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

    SECTION 1.  Section 22C of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 29, the words “as of June thirtieth, two thousand and 23” and inserting in place thereof the following:- on June 30, 2026.

SECTION 2.  Section 102 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 32, 36 and 43, the figure “$12,000” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following figure:- $16,000.
