In the Year Two Thousand and Eight.

 An Act relative to the leasing of certain property in the city of Waltham

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding section 3 of chapter 40 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the city of Waltham, acting by and through its mayor and upon approval of the city council, may advertise and enter into a lease for 555 Trapelo road, or any portion thereof, for the purposes of providing a 9-hole golf course on such terms and conditions as it deems appropriate, including the authorization to construct a building or structure in accordance with the terms of the Metropolitan State Hospital Reuse Plan for use as part of such 9-hole golf course.  The lease shall not exceed 99 years.

                Section 2.   This act shall take effect upon its passage.
