An Act relative to the purchase of flags..

Whereas, the deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to forthwith regulate the purchase of flags by the Commonwealth, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Section 6 of chapter 2 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following paragraph:-

All flags of the United States or the commonwealth displayed pursuant to this section or procured by any agency shall have been manufactured in the Untied States; provided, further, that a flag shall be considered manufactured in the United States if a substantial majority of the principal components are assembled into the final product in an assembly plant in the United States.
