AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF ROCKLAND TO ISSUE AN ADDITIONAL LICENSE FOR THE SALE OF ALL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES NOT TO BE DRUNK ON THE PREMISES

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.   Chapter 190 of the Acts of 2004 is hereby amended by striking the number “3” and inserting in its place thereof the following:- “2”.

SECTION 2.  Notwithstanding Section 17 of Chapter 138 of the General Laws or any other special law to the contrary, the licensing authority of the Town of Rockland may issue an additional license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages not to be drunk on the premises, pursuant to section 15 of Chapter 138 of the General Laws.  The licensing authority shall not approve the transfer of this license to any other location once a license is issued; provided, however, that no such license shall be re-issued to the same location within 6 months from the date said license terminated, unless the applicant files a letter in writing from the department of Revenue with the local licensing authority indicating the prior licensee's good standing with said Department.

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
