AN ACT relative to special education and parent advisory councils

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The last paragraph of section 3 of chapter 71B of the General Laws, as amended by section 168 of chapter 159 of the Acts of 2000, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof:-

"provided, however, that the department shall, subject to appropriation, establish and administer a grant program to provide individual parent advisory councils with financial resources to support fulfillment of their duties under this section and to support outreach activities necessary to effectively include under-represented parents."
