In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

AN ACT directing the Department of Early Education and Care to adopt regulatitions for after-school programs

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Paragraph (a) of section 3 of chapter 15D of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following 2 sentences:-  The board shall adopt regulations governing all after-school programs in the commonwealth, including those operated by public school systems.  In developing these regulations, the board shall consult with the department of education.

SECTION 2.  The regulations required under section 1 shall be adopted no later than 120 days after the effective date of this act.
