General Court for legislation to change the maximum
required age for school attendance. Education.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 76 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 to 2, the words “and maximum ages established for school attendance by the board of education” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- age established for school attendance by the board of education and the age of 18.
SECTION 2. Section 1 shall apply to all cities, towns, and regional school districts, notwithstanding section 27C of chapter 29, and without regard to any acceptance or appropriation by a city, town or regional school district or to any appropriation by the general court.
