Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 7A of chapter 71 of Massachusetts General Law, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first paragraph the following paragraph:-
Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for the purpose of fully funding regional school transportation, appropriations made for the reimbursement to cities and towns for the transportation of pupils in regional school districts in item 7035-0006 shall be $60,000,000 in fiscal year 2008. A full funding schedule shall be established and updated from time to time by the commissioner of education in accordance with the provisions of this section and section 7B of this chapter.
